2026 DIVISION 7 SUMMIT ET FINALS GUIDELINES
All category rules for Division 7 ET Finals Participants will follow NHRA Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, ET Motorcycle or Street Legal EV Rules as listed in Section 4 (A-G) of 2026 NHRA Rulebook with the following exceptions:

SUPER PRO: 1/8 Mile 4.30 – 7.70
EV Cars MAY run in Super Pro or EV Class Section 4B Advanced ET rules apply to anyone running quicker than 4.50 during event.

• Tow vehicles: No full-size vehicles allowed (Golf Cart, Quad, ATV type vehicles OK).
• All cars 9.99 and quicker or 135 MPH and faster are required to have a NHRA approved lower engine containment device properly attached to vehicle. See General Regulations 1:8.
  PRO ET: 1/4 Mile 8.50 – 13.99 (1/8 Mile 5.35 – 8.95)
  EV Cars are NOT Permitted in This Class
  same rules as Super Pro with the following exceptions:
• Delay Boxes: Prohibited. See General Regulations 8:2.
• Automated Shifter: Permitted, single function controller only.
• Throttle Control: A “dead stop” under the carburetor or throttle pedal permitted. No over-ride or throttle stop devices allowed. See General Regulations 1:12.
• Ignition: Three-step limiters prohibited.
• Tow vehicles: Permitted for two-wheeled brake vehicles only.
  SPORTSMAN ET: 1/4 Mile 11.50 – 19.99 (1/8 Mile 7.35 – 13.00)
  EV Cars are NOT Permitted in This Class
  same as PRO with following exceptions:
• Transbrake: Prohibited
• Line-loc: Four-wheel line-loc prohibited. Two-wheel line-loc permitted on non-drive wheels only.
• Automated Shifter: Prohibited unless stock OEM equipped.
• Ignition: Single stage, ‘high side’ rev limiter permitted. Starting line rev limiter prohibited. Rev limiter or any other rpm limiting devices, legal unto themselves but altered or installed to function as a down-track rpm controller prohibited. Crank trigger system prohibited unless OEM distributor-less ignition.
• Tow vehicles: Prohibited.
• Category reserved for full bodied production vehicles with working doors (convertibles OK, no open wheel vehicles allowed).
  ET MOTORCYCLE, SNOWMOBILE, ATV: 1/4 Mile 7.50 – 15.99 (1/8 Mile 4.70 – 10.10)
  EV Cars are NOT Permitted in This Class NHRA Rulebook Sections 4C, E (Snowmobile), and F (ATV) applicable with following exceptions:
• .4 Pro or .5 Full (split tree – No Crosstalk – No TruStart)
  HIGH SCHOOL/JUNIOR STREET: 1/8 Mile 7.50 and slower for licensed driver (JR/S racers restricted to 9.00 and slower) same rules as Sportsman with following exceptions:
• Jr Street vehicle and drivers must meet Jr Street rules (license, vehicle, etc).
• Driver must have a current and valid state issued driver’s license (no permits) or Jr Street license.
• All competitors must have attended school during the 2022-2023 school year.
• Not necessary for vehicle to be registered or insured (high school project vehicles).
• Must be full size passenger style vehicle (no MC, ATV, etc.)
• Nitrous Oxide prohibited
  As this is a dual competition category: Jr street competitors must meet all Jr Street rules. High school competitors must meet all High School rules. No Electronics (trans brake, delay box, throttle stop/control, automated shifters other than OEM) allowed.
  STREET LEGAL ELECTRIC VEHICLE: (1/4 Mile) 9.00 and slower
  Vehicles in this class must follow NHRA Street Legal rules – 2025_StreetLegal.pdf
  Run order for Time Trials
  Sportsman, Pro, EV, Motorcycle, Super Pro, High School (those not entered in Sportsman or Pro).
• Pairings and Lane Assignments
• All classes will be called to the lanes in sessions. Each team will be assigned specific lane and/or session throughout the event. From those assignments, a random card draw will be made to pair the lanes for each elimination round.
• Potential bye runs in eliminations will be done by random card draw during the first round. During subsequent rounds, the best winning reaction time from the previous round will have earned the potential bye for the following round. Competitors may only receive one bye run during eliminations until such time as all remaining competitors have had a bye.
• Lane choice will be done via coin toss at the head of the lanes (by staging personnel). Be prepared to tell staging personnel which lane you prefer, and to call the coin toss (point up for heads, down for tails). Any racer pulled for a potential bye will have lane choice if paired at end of class.
• Team Structure
• Each participating track is allowed a team of up to 40 entries, regardless of class that will earn team points. Additionally, each track may bring an unlimited number of additional racers to be place on Team 2, which will NOT earn team points (blockers).
• All team members must have competed in a minimum of one Summit Series points earning event in 2026 at the track they will be representing at this event.

Points in this class will count towards Track Manager Cup on Sunday. This class will not count toward team quota.
• As this is a dual competition category: Jr street competitors must meet all Jr Street rules. High school competitors must meet all High School rules. No Electronics (trans brake, delay box, throttle stop/control, automated shifters other than OEM) allowed.
• Team Captains
• Each Track is allowed up two (2) team captains. Team captains will be responsible to handle any and all problems or discrepancies that one of their competitors may encounter. Only one team captain will be allowed in the tower at any one time. Any disputes must be brought to the Division/Race Director by a team captain. Division Director will rule on any issues and have final say on such. Designated Team Captains will be granted complimentary credentials to event.
• License and Membership
• Entrants in ALL classes are required to have an NHRA Membership and NHRA ET License/number.
• Please have your License and Membership taken care of BEFORE arriving for the Race!
• For Staging Lane Pairing Purposes
• TEAM DESIGNATORS MUST BE SEPARATE FROM COMPETITION NUMBER AND DIAL-IN. TEAM DESIGNATORS SHALL BE LOCATED ON THE LOWER LEFT (DRIVER’S) SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD AND THE REAR WINDOW –
  Rules and Regulations
• Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, EV, and High School will be run on a five-tenth (.5) full tree with optional staging. Motorcycle will be run utilizing a split tree format (.4 Pro or .5 Full).
• Deep staging will be allowed, but it may not be written on the vehicle, nor will the starter make any changes to the starting procedure for those deep staging.
• CrossTalk will be used in Super Pro only. If you do not wish to use this option then you MUST PLACE AN “N” DIRECTLY BEHIND YOUR DIAL-IN (ex 7.99N) in ALL locations.
• Motorcycle category start defaults to a pro tree. Any rider wanting a full tree must indicate such by placing an “F” directly behind dial-in (ex 9.87F). A dash will appear in front of dial on scoreboard for those indicating full tree.
• No passengers will be allowed in any vehicle during time trials or competition. Exception JR Street.
• Dial-ins must be displayed ON LEFT SIDE OF VEHICLE prior to entering the ready area (sign will designate last place to dial in) and may not be altered beyond that point unless OK’d by the Division Director or Race Director.
• At time a driver pre-stages their vehicle, they have accepted the posted dial-ins on the scoreboard.
• Excessive braking may be grounds for disqualification. Starter and/or Division/Race Director will have final say on any warning or expulsion. If a warning is issued, any subsequent infraction will be grounds for immediate disqualification.
• All tech cards must be filled out online.
• Competition numbers must be vinyl or painted on in Super Pro, Pro, and Motorcycle.
• Buy-backs (first round only – $60) will be allowed for Team portion of the event. Racers buying back will face off against each other to earn entry to second round. Buy back round will not award any team points, those winning buy back round may earn points in round two.
• Single car/driver may compete in two classes. Conversely, one car may be entered by a different driver in separate classes (no double entry in same class – including gambler races). Vehicle must be legal for each class being entered at time of run in said class (i.e. delay box removed, button removed, etc.). One driver may enter up to two vehicles, must be in separate classes.
• Policy and Procedure information:
• Team make up: 40 entries (roster determined by track) between Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, and Motorcycle.
• Tracks may send a second team with an unlimited number of racers (non-points earning team).
• Team championship points calculated during Saturday “team” event.
• Category winners of the Summit Showdown will qualify for Summit National Championship in Las Vegas. Alternates will be as follows: Saturday winner, ROC winner, Showdown RU, Saturday RU, ROC RU
• Open to any student that has attended high school (or home school) during the 2025-2026 school year or licensed in the NHRA JR street class. High School / JR Street class Schedule; Friday Test n Tune (no charge) Saturday will race for Wally no points to team, Sunday 2nd race in conjunction with showdown. Points in this class will count towards Track Manager Cup on Sunday. This class will not count toward team quota.
• Team designator must be separate from competition number and be displayed on lower left (driver’s) side of windshield and rear of vehicle SEPARATE from competition number.
• Refer to the 2026 NHRA Rulebook for all applicable safety requirements in each ET Bracket.
• Tree will utilize blinders. Crosstalk in use for Super Pro category only. “N” designation for no Crosstalk must be directly behind dial-in (not above, below, in front of dial, or elsewhere on vehicle) to be acknowledged by race control clock operator (ex. 4.51N). No-crosstalk dial-ins will display on scoreboard with a dash in front of dial (ex. -4.51).
• Motorcycle class start system default is a .4 tenths Pro tree. A split tree is available for those wishing to run a .5 tenths Full tree. Any racer wishing to utilize the full tree will need to place an “F” directly behind operator (ex. 9.65F). Full tree dial-in will display on scoreboard with a dash in front of dial (ex. -9.65).
• Dial-ins must be clearly (i.e., visible from tower) displayed on vehicle prior to moving past designated ready line. Dial-ins may not be applied/changed once moving past the ready line (there will be a sign designating this location) unless OK’d by event director. The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway has a LEFT side tower; car number and dial must be on left window or side of vehicle (not windshield left, or rear window left).
• Once pre-staged, you accept dial-ins/tree as displayed for BOTH lanes. No re-runs allowed in this situation.
• All classes will run using the AutoStart system. Timeout setting on staging will be 10 seconds.
• TruStart will be utilized in all classes except Motorcycle (not available during split tree function).
• Deep staging allowed; however DEEP may not be written on vehicle. Starter will activate AutoStart system when both cars have pre-staged.
• In the event of rerun, competitors may change dial and driver with original lane choice has option to change lanes.
• NHRA Accepted Lower Engine Containment Device mandatory and installed on any vehicle running 9.99 (6.35) or quicker and/or over 135 MPH. Not applicable to Motorcycles.
• Buy Backs: A re-entry round will take place where all buy-back contestants race each other to gain entry to second round of team race. No team points are awarded during the re-entry round.
• Burnouts
• Across the starting line burnouts permitted in Super Pro. Pro ET with two-wheel brakes OK.
• Tow Vehicles
• Permitted in Super Pro (and Pro with two-wheel brakes) up to rear of staging and from top end.
• Tow vehicles may not enter staging lanes.
• Pit Vehicles
• Track operators are responsible for policing their team’s pit vehicles for improper use. All drivers/riders must be licensed and a minimum of 16 years of age. No pit vehicle parking will be allowed on return road, in front of grandstands, or in front of timing tower other than when your car is running.
• Pit Areas and Overnight Stay/Gatherings
• Each team will be designated a specific pit area. Please also be respectful of the facility and use trash cans to dispose of any trash prior to leaving the facility. Overnight camping is allowed for free however there are no hookups or dump stations. As a courtesy to your fellow competitors, we ask that all participants curtail any higher than normal noise making activities by Wednesday 10:00PM – Thursday, Friday Saturday 1 Hour after last run for the day. This includes the parking of all Scooters, Bicycles, Golf Carts, Etc.
• Summit Series Decals
• Each competitor is required to run the Summit ET Series decal for the duration of the event. Those not having the decal will not earn points for team or be eligible for any prizes or awards.
• Contingency Decals
• All racers are encouraged to have and/or get decals from the manufacturer prior to the event. Decals must be on vehicle for duration of eliminations. The contingency verification will take place after the race, but will be checked against photos from earlier rounds to see that decals were in place.
• National Dragster Team Spirit Award
• This prestigious award will be given to the team that displays the best spirit based on these factors:
• Pit area organization and decorations, overall conduct and sportsmanship in all areas of the facility, along with team colors/apparel. Award winner will be decided by the NHRA Certification Team.
• Special Awards
• NHRA will be give out the Best Appearing Vehicle, Best Engineered and Best Appearing Crew. The award recipients will be decided by the NHRA Certification Team.
  Team Championship / Event and Summit Showdown
• Each participating track team will be awarded one (1) point per round won in the four contested classes (buy back round will not count toward team points). The team with the highest point total will be crowned the Pacific Division Team Champions and be awarded team champion jackets. In the event of a tie for team championship, tie-breaker points will be awarded for win (5), runner up (4), semi final (3), ¼ final (2), and 1/8 final (1).
• Gambler Shootout (Thursday)
• Racers with two entries may enter both High Roller and Low Roller with the same car provided they are double entered in the team race (On track roster with two entries). May not have two entries in the same gambler class. Track will retain 20% of fees collected. Motorcycles and Sleds are only allowed to participate in the Motorcycle Gambler Class.
• Categories for the Thursday Gambler will be as follows:
• High Roller ($100 entry) 4.30 – 7.70, electronics OK, optional staging, cross talk, .5 full tree (1/8 Mile)
• Low Roller ($50 entry) 7.50 – 19.99, no electronics, optional staging, .5 full tree (1/4 Mile)
• Motorcycle ($50 entry) 7.50 – 15.99, optional staging, split tree (1/4 Mile)
• Race of Champions (Friday)
• Each track may send one representative in each of the following classes: Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, and Motorcycle for the Race of Champions in 2026. This will be run Friday eliminations. Winner will receive Wally and Jacket from NHRA.

Additionally, racers who have participated in 100% of the 2026 ET Series events at the track they are representing at this event are eligible to race the Summit Showdown.
• Saturday’s event winner in Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, and Motorcycle will also receive entry into the Summit Super Showdown for the chance to race in Vegas for the National Championship. If Saturday winner has already earned a spot in Sunday’s Summit Showdown, the runner up will advance.
