Press Release:
We understand that the Airport’s Lease Agreement with the Road Course will be changing for 2026. This is a change that has been in the works for almost four years. Not New News!. The City and Airport require more liability insurance than the previous Lease Holders (SKK & SSS) provided and also the FAA has required an updated property value assessment. This means the lease amount will be raised significantly for the future. This affects the road course property, the dragstrip property and the motocross track property. Yes, this means that there will be a price increase for everyone as well as less 24/7 access to accommodate insurance requirements.
It is and always has been our intention to comply with the City and Airport’s new direction so we can facilitate a place for everyone to participate including the clubs that host events at the road course.
We are excited to hold larger events while maintaining smaller events in order to raise enough money to pay the new lease agreement, the higher insurance requirements and make major renovations to the track and transform it into something that Shasta County and Redding motorsports enthusiasts can be proud to call their racetrack.
We currently, and have for 4 years, hold the required Liability, Umbrella and Participant insurance as well as permission from the Airport manager to use the road course.
See you at the track,
Tony Trimp and the whole crew at Redding Motorsports Park
